The Tapas Saadhana Programme, run by Rashtrotthana Trust, is a flagship initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged but meritorious youth — offering them free PU / NEET / IIT-JEE coaching, residential facilities, and academic support to access premier higher-education opportunities.

Solution Approach
- Developed a centralized digital platform to handle online application submission, including socio-economic background, academic details, and eligibility information.
- Integrated an entrance exam management module — to manage exam scheduling across 50+ centres, generate admit-cards, accept digital answer-sheets or scanned uploads (if remote), and organise evaluation. This replaced manual, paper-heavy exam logistics.
- Built a transparent selection & verification workflow: multi-level screening (academic + income + background) integrated with data validation (income proofs, address verification, etc.), with audit logs to avoid bias or errors.
- Added a scholarship / support module: once selected, students’ data flows into scholarship management enabling free tuition, boarding/hostel allocation, study-material provisioning — all tracked digitally for accountability.
- Enabled real-time dashboard & reporting for administrators / trustees: number of applicants, dropouts, admissions, scholarship distribution, success metrics (entrance-exam results, college admission conversion), helping in data-driven decisions.
- Automated communications (email / SMS / notices) to applicants and beneficiaries – ensuring transparency and accessibility even for rural applicants.
Results
The digital solution improved operational efficiency, ensured transparent and fair student selection, reduced manual workload, and enabled the program to scale its educational and scholarship impact across regions.
